Why Should You Stay Near Changi Airport?

Okay, but why?

Don’t airports already have everything you need?

Sure. Except what if you’re catching an early morning flight? What if you don’t want to wake up at 2AM for your flight?

If you’re staying overnight in Singapore (whether it be for transit or otherwise), staying near the airport can be a huge timesaver.

Few things are more stressful than worrying about catching your flight on time. Sure Singapore is one of the most organized airports in the world, but you still need travel time, buffer time, and waking up super early can be brutal.

Here are some things to consider when staying near Changi Airport.

  • Your flight leaves super early
  • You have a long layover and need to reset
  • You want to wake up refreshed instead of exhausted
  • Flying with kids? Staying near the airport is a must.

The Beds. They’re comfy.

Alright, enough chatting. Let’s dive into some hotels.

Here are my top hotel recommendations near Changi Airport:

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport outdoor pool surrounded by palm trees and modern hotel building in Singapore
The stunning outdoor pool at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport feels more like a tropical resort than an airport hotel—perfect for relaxing before your next flight.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

★★★★☆

Best for: Premier comfort located inside the airport

Located inside Terminal 3 and connected to Jewel Changi Airport, Crowne Plaza gives you ultimate convenience.

Literally walk right from immigration to your hotel room without setting foot outside.

The Crowne Plaza is by far the most resort-like hotel you can stay at in Singapore Airport. It’s connected to Terminal 3 so it feels less “hotel” and more “you are still inside an airport experiencing 5-star accommodations.”

My experience at Crowne Plaza was top notch. The rooms were quiet, well laid out, and didn’t feel like I was staying in a hectic airport.

WHAT STOOD OUT:

  • Airport proximity
  • Spacious hotel rooms
  • Access to Jewel
  • Outdoor pool area

ACCESSIBILITY

  • ✅ Connected to Terminal 3
  • ✅ Walking distance to Jewel
  • ❌ Transportation needed for Changi Airport Terminals 1 & 2

Pros

  • You can’t get much more convenient than staying right next to the airport.
  • Amazing beds. Huge rooms. Makes you forget you’re technically at the airport.
  • Jewel Changi Airport is right next door if you’re looking to grab some food or check out the waterfall.

Cons

  • Pricier than most.
  • Due to popularity, this place books out quick!

If I had to pick the best hotel to stay at near Changi Airport, I’d pick Crowne Plaza without hesitation.

Trust me. Don’t over think it. Book first. Questions later.

YOTELAIR Singapore Changi Airport

The futuristic corridor at YOTELAIR Singapore inside Jewel Changi Airport sets the tone for a sleek, compact stay—perfect for short layovers.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

★★★★☆

Best for: Quick layovers or short term stays

YOTELAIR Singapore is located within Jewel itself. It’s another ridiculously convenient option.

Instead of opting for a traditional hotel feel, YOTELAIR takes a more futuristic approach.

The hotel itself reminds me of a giant airplane cabin. Tiny by hotel standards, but extravagant in its own right.

This was my option when I had an overnight layover in Singapore for around 12 hours.

WHAT STOOD OUT:

  • Inexpensive compared to other airport hotels
  • Unique hotel rooms that feature upward (and downward) adjustable beds
  • Easy access to Jewel

CHECK-IN ACCESSIBILITY

  • ✅ Walking distance to Jewel and Changi Airport Terminal 3
  • ❌ Transportation needed for Changi Airport Terminals 1 & 2

Pros

  • Innovative design at a great price. Perfect for short stays or if you just need a place to sleep.
  • Compact but very spacious beds.
  • Located INSIDE Jewel. Options galore if you’re hungry.

Cons

  • Tiny Hotel rooms. Not good for families.

Another great option if you’re looking to get some sleep and recharge before your next flight.

Aerotel Singapore

Aerotel Singapore’s reception inside Terminal 1 makes it easy for transit passengers to check in without leaving the airport.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

★★★★☆

Best for: Transit passengers

If you’ll be arriving or departing from Terminal 1, Aerotel Singapore is your new best friend.

Located INSIDE Terminal 1’s transit area, you don’t even need to clear immigration if you’re only here for transit!

I stayed here once during an ultra long transit in Singapore and it was INCREDIBLE.

WHAT STOOD OUT:

  • Located on the airside of Terminal 1
  • Hourly bookings available
  • Outdoor pool overlooking the runway
  • Best option for long layovers

CHECK-IN ACCESSIBILITY

  • ✅ Walking distance to Changi Airport Terminal 1
  • ❌ Transportation required for Terminal 2 & 3

Pros

  • If you’re only staying for transit, this hotel will be a lifesaver.
  • Love the outdoor pool.
  • Money saving options if you don’t plan on using your hotel room much.

Cons

  • You can ONLY access Aerotel if you are staying for transit.
  • Limited availability

Ignore the hotel name. Aerotel is cleverly located inside Terminal 1 and is perfect for transit passengers.

Village Hotel Changi

Village Hotel Changi offers a peaceful escape from the airport, with spacious rooms and a relaxing coastal setting just minutes from Changi Airport.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

★★★★☆

Best for: Escaping the crowds

Park Hotel Chunghi isn’t your typical airport hotel.

Unlike most hotels on this list, Village Hotel is located away from the airport. You’ll need transportation to get here, but with that being said, Village Hotel provides airport pick up service if you need it.

During my stay here, I loved escaping the airport. Staying at Village Hotel gave me that “mini vacation” feeling since you’re located right on the beach in Changi Village.

WHAT STOOD OUT:

  • Rooftop pool with ocean views
  • Free Airport Pickup service
  • Room sizes were much larger than other hotels
  • Great chance to relax before your flight

CHECK-IN ACCESSIBILITY

  • ✅ Short taxi ride from the airport
  • ❌ Transportation required for all terminals

Pros

  • Perfect for longer layovers or if you want to escape the airport.
  • Rooms felt larger than others and were pretty clean.
  • Amazing rooftop pool with beautiful views if you book one of the rooms upstairs.

Cons

  • Farther from the airport.
  • Not as “airport themed” as other hotels.

I loved staying at Village Hotel because it was the complete opposite of an airport hotel. If you have time to relax before your flight, I highly recommend checking Village Hotel out.

How To Choose The Right Hotel Near Changi Airport

Ah yes. The million dollar question.

How do you decide which hotel is best for YOU?

Good news, I’ve already broken down pros and cons above, but here are some guidelines.

If you value convenience over everything else, then staying at Crowne Plaza will be your best bet. You can literally roll your luggage from your hotel room to the airport’s check-in counter.

If you’re looking to save some money and only staying for a few hours, check out YOTELAIR or Aerotel.

If you want to unwind before your flight, or enjoy a longer layover, Village Hotel is great option.

Ultimately it depends on what you NEED from a hotel.

Don’t over think it, choose a hotel that matches your trip!

Conclusion

Staying near Changi Airport can truly upgrade your experience.

Instead of waking up groggy and tired from a long red eye flight or layover, you’ll arrive feeling refreshed and ready to go!

These hotels are my top picks based on experience, but there are many hotels you can choose from near Changi Airport.

No matter where you decide to stay at, staying near the airport will definitely change your trip for the better.

Safe travels, and thanks for reading!
