I’ve traveled to Sentosa several times with my family and honestly, your hotel can make or break your trip. Why Stay at Sentosa With Children?

Before we get into each hotel, let’s talk about why Sentosa makes for such a great family vacation destination.

Sentosa is basically like staying within a giant theme park. Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A Aquarium, and Adventure Cove Waterpark are all minutes away from each other.

Which means there is minimal transportation needed which equals less screaming children and more time having fun.

Bonus: hotels on Sentosa are also larger than your typical hotel you’d find in the city. This is always a plus when you’re traveling with kids and luggage.

Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa – Best Overall Family Resort

Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa beachfront resort on Siloso Beach with tropical greenery and ocean view in Sentosa Singapore
Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa – Singapore’s only beachfront resort and one of the best family-friendly stays on Sentosa Island

Address: 101 Siloso Rd, 098970

Hands down my personal favorite hotel to stay at when traveling with kids in Sentosa is Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa.

For starters, this is Singapore’s only beachfront resort. It’s located directly on Siloso Beach. What sets it apart from other hotels is how focused it is on being family-friendly.

They have their own children’s pool area complete with water slides, water play area, and even a kids club known as Toots Club. My experience felt more like a resort vacation than just staying at a hotel.

Family sized rooms are available and the designs actually cater to families by providing rooms with bunk beds or extra space for kids.

Why families rave about it:

  • Direct access to a beach if your family wants some downtime
  • Large pool area with kids-specific zones
  • Daily activities for kids and kids play area
  • Room sizes are bigger than most hotels in Singapore

Safe to say if you want the ultimate resort experience with everything you need in one place, Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa is your safest bet.

Resorts World Sentosa Hotels – Best for Theme Park Proximity

Resorts World Sentosa – a cluster of family-friendly hotels within walking distance to Universal Studios and top attractions

Resorts World Sentosa is technically not one hotel but rather a complex of multiple hotels located within walking distance to the main attractions.

These are some of the best hotel options under Resorts World Sentosa:

  • Village Hotel Sentosa
  • Hard Rock Hotel Singapore
  • Equarius Hotel Sentosa

If you know you’ll be spending most of your time at Universal Studios or the aquarium, staying here is ideal as you save time and transportation.

Out of these hotels, I’ve stayed at Village Hotel Sentosa before with my family and it was fantastic. They even have themed pool areas and a more chill vibe that’s good for kids.

If your kids are big pool fans, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore is another winner. The sand-bottom pool is their stand-out feature that not many hotels have.

Why families rave about it:

  • Within walking distance to the Universal Studios, Aquarium, and Sentosa attractions
  • Ideal if you have multiple adults and can choose from different hotels to stay at
  • Quick and convenient access to dining and nightlife too
  • Great pools at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore and themed pools at Village Hotel

The tradeoff is that Resorts World can get crowded. This is especially true if you’re traveling during peak seasons.

Capella Singapore – Best Luxury Family Hotel

Capella Singapore – a luxurious and private resort offering spacious villas and serene surroundings perfect for family stays

Address: 1 The Knolls, Sentosa Island, 098297

Capella Singapore really shines if you’re looking to splurge on a luxury hotel that still caters to families.

I stayed here for my birthday during one of our trips to Singapore. While it’s undoubtedly on the pricier side, the rooms are huge compared to your average hotel in Singapore.

It’s also much quieter and more private. You really feel removed from the crowds here.

Despite its luxe reputation, Capella is surprisingly kid friendly. The staff are great with children and there’s plenty of space for your kids to roam around in the resort grounds.

Why families rave about it:

  • Spacious rooms and villas, ideal for families
  • Very quiet and private compared to other hotels in Singapore
  • Luxurious pool areas and lush greenery
  • Exceptional service

The downside? Price. Don’t go into this hotel expecting cheap rooms. If you have the budget, Capella is one of the best hotels to stay at with your family on Sentosa.

Oasia Resort Sentosa – Best Mid-Range Stay Focused on Wellness

Oasia Resort Sentosa exterior building with colonial-style architecture and landscaped greenery in Sentosa Singapore
Oasia Resort Sentosa – a modern wellness-focused hotel offering a quiet and comfortable stay for families on Sentosa Island

Address: 23 Bch Vw Rd, Palawan Ridge Sentosa Island, 098679

If you’re looking for a hotel that’s a bit more modern with a focus on wellness, Oasia Resort Sentosa is a great option.

It doesn’t have as many features that are kid-centric but is great if you have older children or prefer a quieter hotel.

The rooms are sleek, modern, and everything you need. If you’re looking for a nice balance of price to comfort, Oasia is a good mid-range hotel to stay at.

Why families rave about it:

  • Cheaper than luxury resorts on average
  • Rooms are modern and clean
  • Quieter than most hotels on Sentosa
  • Located within Sentosa

W Singapore – Best High-End Hotel for Families

W Singapore Sentosa Cove – a stylish luxury hotel known for its massive resort pool and relaxing family-friendly atmosphere

Address: 21 Ocean Way, 098374

W Singapore – Sentosa Cove is different from your typical hotels on Sentosa.

It’s located in Sentosa Cove which is more residential and quiet. Known for their stylish interior designs, you’d think W Singapore isn’t suitable for families. But it kind of is?

Their pool is gigantic compared to most hotels in Singapore. It’s easily one of the best pools if your kids love spending time at the pool.

Why families rave about it:

  • Resort style pool that’s huge
  • Rooms are larger than average hotel rooms
  • Located in Sentosa Cove which is quieter and less crowded
  • Good for relaxing while your kids have fun at the pool

The downsides is that it’s a bit out of the way compared to other hotels. You’ll need to take a shuttle or taxi to get to the main attractions.

Picking the right hotel ultimately depends on what kind of traveler you are as a family.

If you have younger children, your best bet is Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa as it has everything you need in a family resort.

If you know you’ll be spending most of your time at Universal Studios, then staying at one of the hotels under Resorts World Sentosa is your best option.

If you’re traveling with a bigger family and want some quiet and privacy, then Capella or W Singapore are your best bets.

But if you just want a nice comfortable hotel that’s not too expensive, Oasia Resort is your go-to.
