Kempinski Bali Review

Our lovely Yuyi is 1 year old! Like every parent in the world, we want our child’s first birthday to be a cherished memory. As Nicole and I began planning our daughter’s special day, we knew we wanted a remarkable experience that would make the celebration truly unforgettable for our whole family. After doing much online research with Nicole and my sister, our family decided on Kempinski Bali. In this post, I am thrilled to share this Kempinski Bali Review which is based on our own experiences with you.

Arrival and Welcome

For convenience sake, we decided to book Kempinski Bali hotel transfer from Ayana Resort Hotel. We are lucky that the traffic is not congested and the journey took just around 40 mins. Of course, we are served with wet towels, mineral water bottles, jamu, and local snacks during the journey.

As we arrived at the hotel, the bell boy at the entrance collected our luggages and guided us into the hotel. From the moment we stepped into Kempinski Bali, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The staff at the reception desk welcomed us with smiles and provided a seamless check-in process, ensuring we felt valued as VIP guests.

We are staying in cliff suite and for guest staying in the suites, instead of the main lobby, you will check-in in the Cliff Lounge which feels a bit more exclusive. Unfortunately, our room is not ready yet and we have to wait around 1 hour for preparation. During the check-in progress, there is also a “Lady in Red” who serve as your dedicated personal concierge service, which she is just a chat away from WhatsApp.

Cliff Suite Room Tour

We stayed in Kempinski Bali’s Cliff suites, and the suite room definitely exceeded our expectations. The spacious and elegantly decorated suite room provided a comfortable sanctuary for our entire stay. The attention to detail and impeccable housekeeping left us feeling pampered and relaxed. We are glad to also have side by side connecting suite room which makes moving around between room easier for our whole family. Enjoy the room photos below.

Memorable Birthday Decoration

Without us knowing beforehand, my sister has also secretly add on a birthday decoration service (balloons, signage, fairy lights) in our room as a surprise to Yuyi & us. Yuyi love it so much! Kempinski Bali team also delivered a complimentary chocolate flavoured birthday cake for Yuyi as well.

Beautiful Surroundings

The hotel’s location is breathtaking, nestled along the pristine white sands of Nusa Dua Beach. The lush tropical gardens and the stunning infinity pool overlooking the ocean created a serene and picturesque backdrop.

At night, the whole Kempinski Bali hotel building looks like it’s glowing in the dark and the view is magnificent.

Food

Food is the one of the most important factor for any good resort/hotel stay. Kempinski Bali’s culinary offerings surpassed our expectations.

Baiyun Restaurant

On our first night, we indulged in a delectable hotpot dinner at their signature Baiyun restaurant, where the savoury hotpot delighted our taste buds. Since it’s Yuyi birthday as well, we wanted to eat something nice and “Chinese”. All the staff at Baiyun restaurant are very friendly and it is very welcoming environment overall.

The attentive staff also ensured that all our dietary preferences and special requests were met with utmost care. I also appreciated the staff having effort to entertain and play with Yuyi everytime they pass by her, making Yuyi really happy that night.

I would recommend trying out their hotpot, though it’s not consider cheap, even by Singapore standards. In a nutshell, Baiyun concept is pretty much like Paradise hotpot (a Singapore hotpot restaurant), where each diner get a separate hotpot with their preferred soup base to dip your hotpot ingredients in.

Reef Beach Club

We decided to go for dinner at the Reef Beach Club on our last night. As it’s a last minute decision, we didn’t manage to secure the reservation via the Kempinski website due to restaurant fully booked. But fortunately, our personal “Lady in Red” make the reservation happen for us so kudos to her. The food here is relatively cheaper than Baiyun, and overall I would say it is quite a satisfying dinner.

If you plan to visit the Reef Beach Club, please note that advance reservation is required. Reef Beach Club is popular for their BBQ menu, so you may want to try that out.

Pala Restaurant & Rooftop Bar

As Cliff suite guests, complimentary evening cocktails are served at Pala Restaurant & Rooftop Bar every day (5 PM- 7PM). You can order as many cocktails as you wish for free and snacks will also be served. It’s a good place to chill out and catch the sunset.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Kempinski Bali proved to be an excellent choice for a family celebration. The hotel boasts a variety of family-friendly amenities, including a dedicated kids’ club and a range of engaging activities. Our daughter had a blast playing in the Kids Club, allowing us parents to relax and enjoy our stay even more.

One of the standout features of Kempinski Bali was the exceptional service provided by the entire staff. Each team member we encountered was attentive, friendly, and genuinely interested in ensuring our stay was nothing short of perfect. Kudo to the Lady in Red as well, they anticipated our needs and went above and beyond to make us feel like valued guests throughout our entire stay.
