The Apurva Kempinski Bali Review

Our lovely Yuyi is 1 year old! Every parent in the world wish their child’s first birthday to be a magical experience, right? As Nicole and I start to plan for our daughter’s special day, we start to search online and look for hotel to accommodate us. We wanted a truly remarkable experience to make her celebration one to remember for the whole family. After much online search with Nicole and my sister, our family finally decided on Kempinski Bali. In this blog post, I am happy to be sharing this Kempinski Bali Review, based on our own experience, with you.

Arrival and Check-In

We have book Kempinski Bali hotel transfer from Ayana Resort Hotel and it is around 20 minutes drive by car. The traffic in Bali is not that congested (at least when we visit) and it took around 40 mins to reach Kempinski Bali. We are served with wet towels, mineral water bottles, jamu and local snacks during the journey.

As we arrive at Kempinski Bali, the bell boy at the hotel entrance will take our luggages and walk us into the hotel. The hotel truly welcomes you from the moment you set your feet at Kempinski Bali. The genuine hospitality greeted us with a smile upon check-in at the reception. We are VIP treated during our check-in process and the staff at the reception desk made the process so easy and smooth.

As we are staying in the cliff suite, instead of the main lobby, we have to check-in at the Cliff Lounge. I felt it is a little more exclusive compare to normal lobby check-in. Our room is not ready yet, so we have to wait for around 1 hour to for our room to be prepared. During the check-in process, they also introduce a “Lady in Red” to us who will serve as your personal concierge service. Yes, she is just a WhatsApp away.

Cliff Suite Room Tour

We are staying at Kempinski Bali’s Cliff suites and our expectation is truly exceeded. The spacious and elegantly designed suite room provided us a comfortable and private sanctuary to rest and relax for our entire stay. The attention to detail and impeccable housekeeping truly left us feeling pampered and cared. We are also glad that we have side by side connecting suite room, which make it easy for us to move around from room to room for the entire family. Check out the room photos below.

Birthday Decoration

Guess what?? Without us knowing, my sister have also secretly surprise us with birthday decoration (balloons, signage, fairy lights) in the room to surprise Yuyi & us. Yuyi really love it and the Kempinski Bali team also deliver a complimentary chocolate flavoured birthday cake for Yuyi as well.

Beautiful Surroundings

Kempinski Bali is located along the pristine white sands of Nusa Dua Beach. The lush tropical gardens and the picture perfect infinity pool overlooking the ocean created a serene and picturesque backdrop.

At night, the whole Kempinski Bali building seems to glowing in the dark. The view is magnificent.

Food

Food is definitely a crucial factor for any good resort/hotel stay. Kempinski Bali’s culinary scene exceed our expectation. We tried out a number of their restaurants and here are our personal thoughts and recommendations.

Baiyun Restaurant

On our first night, we enjoyed a delicious hotpot dinner at their signature Baiyun restaurant, where their savoury hotpot never fail to impress our tastebuds. Since we are celebrating Yuyi birthday as well, we wanted to eat something nice and “Chinese”. All the staff at Baiyun restaurant are very friendly and it is a very welcoming environment overall.

The attentive staff also cater all our dietary preferences and special requests with utmost care. I also love the staff putting in effort to entertain and play with Yuyi everytime they passing by her. It makes Yuyi really happy that night.

I would definitely recommend their hotpot, although it is not cheap even by Singapore standards, Baiyun’s concept pretty much similar to Paradise hotpot (Singapore hotpot restaurant), whereby each diner will have their own separate hotpot with the soup base of their preference to dip your hotpot ingredients in.

Reef Beach Club

We decided to have dinner at Reef Beach Club on our last night. It was a last minute decision so we failed to make reservation via Kempinski website as it was fully booked. But fortunately, our personal “Lady in Red” (she has an Instagram account as well) make the reservation happen for us so kudos to her. The food here is relatively cheaper than Baiyun and overall I would say it is quite a satisfying dinner.

If you are planning to visit the Reef Beach Club, do note that advance reservation is required. Reef Beach Club is famous for their BBQ, so do consider checking it out.

Pala Restaurant & Rooftop Bar

As Kempinski Bali Cliff suite guest, they will serve complimentary evening cocktails at Pala Restaurant & Rooftop Bar every day (5 PM- 7PM). You can order as many cocktails as you want and it is for free. Snacks will also be served. It is a good place to chill out and catch the sunset.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Kempinski Bali truly exceeded our expectation when it came to kid-friendly features and family fun. The kids’ club, in particular, became a huge hit with our daughter. The range of activities and services provided by the kids’ club, combined with other family-friendly amenities, make Kempinski Bali a top choice for families seeking a memorable vacation.

The staff at Kempinski Bali are truly the highlight of our stay. From the moment we arrived, every member of their team we interacted with was not only attentive and friendly but also genuinely invested in ensuring our stay was nothing short of spectacular. Kudos to the Lady in Red as well, they anticipate our needs and go above and beyond to make us feel pampered as VIP guests for the entire duration of our stay.
