If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’ll know Bali has been one of the top honeymoon destinations for years now.
Balinese jungles, beaches, and villas make Bali one of the most romantic honeymoon spots in the world.
As more Muslim couples travel to Bali as their honeymoon destination, questions about Bali being halal arise. Is Bali halal-friendly enough for honeymooners?

Well, Bali might not be one of those fully halal honeymoon destinations such as those in the Middle East or Turkey.
But it’s flexible enough to be tailored to Muslim travelers through villas, resorts, and accommodations.
In fact, Bali may just be the best halal honeymoon destination for those seeking privacy and villa escapes.
Let’s take a look at what Bali has to offer Muslim honeymooners…

I know what you might be thinking.
Bali is Hindu majority. They party hard. And Bali is famous for its nightlife beach clubs.
I thought the same thing before deciding Bali would be our honeymoon style trip.
As I started doing research on villas, honeymoons in Bali, and accommodation options… something clicked.
Why Bali is Awesome For Muslim Honeymooners
The thing Bali does best? Villas.
Balinese hotels aren’t the villa-stay destination you’ll find in other honeymoon spots.
Instead of crowding yourself in hotels, Balinese resorts are known for giving couples their privacy with romantic private pool villas.
Need more reasons why Bali is awesome for Muslim honeymooners?
These private villas are great because:
- You have privacy with your spouse
- You won’t have to worry about public swimming pools
- Food can be prepared in your villa
- Privacy = halal-friendly trip (as much as possible).
You get the point.
Attraction for Muslim travelers and honeymooners alike.
Okay now that we have that out of the way…
What Qualifies a Resort as Halal in Bali?
Unlike some resorts around the world that offer halal certification, Bali resorts aren’t officially halal-friendly.
For Bali, it’s all about flexibility instead.
Here’s what I consider when looking for a halal honeymoon resort in Bali:
Private Pool Villas
Privacy for Muslim couples. Obviously pools are great for swimming and relaxing.
Halal Food Options
Some resorts offer halal meals, while others will gladly whip something up if you ask.
You can even order food from other halal restaurants nearby.
Resorts With No Alcohol (or less focus on nightlife)
Most resorts offer alcohol, but some boutique wellness spots and villas are more low-key.
Space to Perform Prayer
Rooms are bigger. Places are quieter. Staff are more respectful of your prayers.
Location, Location, Location
Ubud is usually more chill than crowded/busy Kuta. Same thing with Nusa Dua.
The resort matters. So does where the resort is located in Bali.
Best Halal-Friendly Resorts for Honeymooners in Bali (2026)
Kayon Jungle Resort | Best Honeymoon Resort in Ubud

Address: Br, Bresela, Kec. Payangan, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80572, Indonesia
Kayon Jungle is without a doubt one of the most popular honeymoon resorts in Bali.
As someone who stayed here for a few nights, I knew after stepping foot in Kayon that Bali was going to be perfect for our honeymoon trip.
Imagine waking up to birds chirping instead of cars blasting through the jungles of Bali.
That’s exactly how serene it felt staying here.
Kayon Jungle Resort has stacked itself up against the competition by creating an oasis hidden within the jungle.
Every villa room comes with its own infinity pool overlooking jungles upon jungles of greenery.
Kayon Resort Works For Muslim Couples Because:
- It’s all villa stays with pools
- The atmosphere is extremely peaceful and romantic.
- Staff are friendly and open to customizing your meals.
- This is not your party-hard Bali destination.
Not only did Kayon check every box for our honeymoon trip, but it allowed us privacy we craved while being in the heart of Ubud.
Kamandalu Ubud | Balinese Honeymoon Getaway

Address: Jl. Raya Andong, Banjar Nagi, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571, Indonesia
Kamandalu offers couples a Balinese village feel with some luxury perks thrown in.
I absolutely fell in love with Kamandalu because of how luxurious Balinese culture felt.
Kamandalu was huge, but didn’t feel overwhelming with people.
What I love about Kamandalu for Muslim couples:
- Privacy is strong with the villas (many with pools)
- Very peaceful and calming resort
- Food can easily be accommodated
- Ideal for couples looking for a private getaway
Samabe Bali Suites & Villas | Honeymoon Resorts in Nusa Dua

Address: Barong – Barong Sawangan, Jl. Pura Jl. Raya Nusa Dua Selatan, Benoa, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80363, Indonesia
Samabe Bali might be my favorite if we decide to have a beach honeymoon.
Nusa Dua is one of my favorite areas in Bali. It’s adults-only, more controlled, and luxurious.
Samabe Bali works for Muslim honeymooners because:
- They offer private pool villas.
- More luxury and less craziness than say, Kuta beach.
- Staff can easily accommodate food requests
- Direct beach access that isn’t filled with resort/public beaches
Royal Purnama Gianyar | Romantic Honeymoon Resort Bali

Address: 98J5+HG4, Jl. Pantai Purnama, Sukawati, Kec. Sukawati, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80582, Indonesia
Royal Purnama is one of those underrated Bali resorts that more couples should really check out.
Royal Purnama is adults-only which makes the entire vibe more relaxing and honeymooner-friendly.
Royal Purnama works because:
- It’s another villa resort with private pools
- Quieter than the typical Bali resorts
- Beautiful beachfront that is quiet and peaceful
- Staff can accommodate any type of food requests
Villa Air Bali Boutique Resort | Couples Resorts Bali

Address: Jl. Lebak Sari, Br. Taman, Petitenget, Kuta, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Want to stay near the restaurants and amenities, but away from the craziness?
Then Villa Air Bali might be the best Balinese resort for you.
Villa Air is tucked far enough away to give you that sense of privacy, but close enough to where you aren’t staying out in the middle of nowhere.
Villa Air works because:
- It’s a fully private villa experience
- Food is cooked right in your villa
- It’s close to many halal restaurants
- Perfect for couples that still want some convenience
Best Areas to Stay in Bali For Muslim Couples on Honeymoon
Ubud
Best for natural scenery, privacy, and being tucked away. Perfect for couples seeking tranquility.
Nusa Dua
Perfect for luxury and less crowded/controlled areas.
Uluwatu
Best for cliff-side views and quiet resorts. A little more out of the way but very romantic.
Seminyak
Avoid hotel accommodations. ONLY stay at villa resorts. Skip the party-heavy areas.
Halal Food in Indonesia
Muslim travelers number one fear? Food.
Thankfully halal food in Bali is abundant. Especially if you know where to go!
Halal food you can find in Bali:
- Halal Indonesian cuisine
- Middle Eastern Food
- Seafood
- Vegetarian meals
You name it. Chances are you can find halal restaurants in Bali serving it.
Use Google Maps and type “halal food near me” and you’ll be set.
Here’s another tip: resorts will even go as far to accommodate you by:
- Grabbing halal ingredients from local markets
- Cooking you special meals
- Setting up private dining for you
Tips for Halal Traveling/Honeymooning in Bali
Here are some of the best tips I’ve learned from staying at multiple villas throughout Bali:
- Book a Villa, Skip Hotel Rooms
Trust me on this. Hotels are nowhere near as private or comfortable. - Email the Resort Ahead of Time
Inquire about halal food options. Inquire about prayers. Any questions, just ask! - Grab Food Delivery Apps
Use food delivery services such as Grab and GoJek to get food delivered right to your villa. - Stay Away From Party Areas
PLEASE avoid Kuta at all costs if you’re seeking a more modest Bali experience. Same thing for certain areas of Canggu. - Bring your Own Snacks
Pack food items you know are halal. Great for midnight cravings.
Final Verdict: Is Bali Halal-Friendly?
Official answer: Bali is not halal-friendly nor a certified halal honeymoon destination.
But unofficially speaking? Bali might be the most halal honeymoon destination out there.
With tons of private villas, Muslim honeymooners can experience Bali just as privac
