Space and comfort are essential when traveling with family, so for our recent KL weekend trip, we decided to stay at the Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur, hoping for that “home-but-better” feeling. Staying here for 2 nights has been better than expected—in many ways, especially with how they made things right during check-in.
If you need real, honest, first-hand reviews and info before booking, this Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur Review will help you decide.

Warm Welcome
Our original booking was for a 3-bedroom apartment (RM1,500 for 2 nights). With a toddler and family in tow, that last bedroom was a huge plus.
But when we arrived, the staff told us that there was a cigarette smell from the previous guest smoking in the unit. Honestly, I appreciate how honest they were about it—no whitewashing, no pretending nothing happened.
As a way to make it right, the hotel also immediately offered:
- Two separate 2-bedroom apartments (total RM1,900, but honored our original price of RM1,500)
- Free breakfast buffet for the whole family (6 pax)
- Late checkout (4PM)
- Full apology + speedy reallocation
I must say, this kind of service recovery is a breath of fresh air. Sometimes, it is not about having zero problems but how a hotel makes things right. Here, Marriott made it extremely right.

First Impressions of the Apartment: Modern, Clean, and Almost Like Moving Into a Showroom
Walking into the apartment, I felt like I just walked into a new show unit.
- Kitchen: Cozy but Fully Equipped
- Full-size Electrolux fridge
- Marble-pattern countertops
- Electric stove
- Nespresso machine
- Microwave, toaster, kettle (neatly arranged, but fully functional)
- Ample storage space
- Warm under-cabinet lighting
If you love to cook while you travel, this is the dream kitchen. Even though we did not do anything “serious”, it was still incredibly convenient to whip up quick breakfasts and wash bottles for the toddler.

Dining and Living Area: Bright, Stylish, and Comfortable
The dining table looks like Carrara marble, with plush, comfortable chairs to match. The pendant lights above add to that cozy, premium feel—almost like a Swedish or Scandinavian-style home.

Moving towards the living room, the space gets even more impressive:
- Huge sectional sofa with firm cushions
- Big TV on a floating console
- Full-length windows, with sheer + blackout curtains
- Warm ambient lighting
- Modern artwork that fills the space without being too loud
It is an excellent space for families when you just want to chill after shopping or walking around KLCC or Pavilion.

Bedrooms: Soft Lighting, Plush Bedding, and Hotel-Level Comfort
As with the rest of the apartment, the 2 bedrooms also follow the same design ethos—minimalist, warm, and comfortable. The beds were firm but cushioned enough, and I love that the pillows came in different levels of softness.
The bedside area has:
- Soft, warm wall sconces
- USB charging ports
- Marble-top bedside table
- Fabric headboard design
- Clean, soft-to-the-touch
The whole room feels like a serene oasis—ideal for unwinding after a long day of exploration in KL.

Bathroom: Clean, Modern, and Well-Lit
The bathroom has a clean, modern feel with:
- Bright LED vanity mirror
- Spacious walk-in shower
- Good water pressure
- Premium toiletries
- Marble countertop with storage area below
I love how clean everything looks. No moldy corners, no dim lighting, no overused fittings. Everything just looks super fresh and well-maintained.

Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur’s Facilities
In addition to our beautiful apartment interior, the facilities are also a big highlight of our stay at Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur—especially for families. We were able to explore most of the facilities in the building, so here’s a quick rundown of what we got to try and some highlights that stood out to us.
Fitness Centre – 24 Hour Access

Something I found super convenient was the fully equipped 24-hour fitness centre. When you enter, you’ll be greeted by a bright and modern space. The entire gym is also encompassed by floor-to-ceiling windows with views of greenery and KL’s skyline. You would not expect to feel so calm while working out in the morning, but that’s the benefit of having a modern view like this.
Equipment includes:
- Row of good quality treadmills
- Cross trainers and spin bikes
- Free weights and benches
- Strength machines
- Towels and water station
Overall, equipment is new, well-kept, and has ample space between each machine/station. For a serviced apartment, I would say the gym and fitness centre here are better than other serviced apartments that I have stayed at before. Here at Marriott Executive Apartments, the gym feels like it belongs in a proper hotel fitness studio.
For families travelling with young children, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the hidden gem that is the Kids Club. This is open from 8 AM to 6 PM, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that it is very spacious and beautifully decorated. The decor is fun but not over-the-top, with planets hanging from the ceiling and walls of bright, fun colors.
Inside, there are a number of different activities and toys suitable for toddlers and young children.

While some hotels have a children’s playroom, I would say this one is one of the best in terms of thought put into the space. Everything about it felt clean, safe, and inviting. It’s the type of place where you can send your kids off to play and burn off some energy, while you adults relax and take a breather.
Outdoor Kids Playground – Good For Evening Playtime
Just outside the Kids Club, there is a small outdoor playground, which is nice for when the kids want to have some short play sessions—especially in the evenings when the weather is cooler.

It features:
- A small climbing structure
- Slides
- A small “truck” themed play panel to explore
- Soft padded flooring
- All in an area fenced off for safety
The space isn’t huge by any means, but for kids that love being outside, it’s a nice extra playground for the younger kids. Our toddler especially enjoyed crawling up all the steps and pretending to “drive” the truck play panel. Little details like this that make Marriott Executive Apartments stand out as extra family-friendly.
Swimming Pool – Semi-Indoor Resort Style Pool
Another part of the building we especially loved was the swimming pool. We knew Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur had a pool when we booked, but we didn’t know it would be a semi-indoor pool! As someone that enjoys swimming laps (when the kids would allow me), it was a huge bonus. You get plenty of natural light without the direct sun overhead. This is a big bonus in KL where afternoons can be swelteringly hot.

The swimming pool area includes:
- Long lap pool
- Lounge beds with plush cushions
- Beautiful overhead wood paneling
- Abundance of greenery surrounding the pool
- Very chill and relaxing ambience
I also personally liked that the pool has both a shallow and deeper area, as I was happy to do dips but also wanted to swim proper laps. The pool overlooks KL’s modern towers, giving it a very modern resort feel.
Kids Pool – Perfect For Toddlers to Splash Around
Right beside the main pool area is a shallow kids pool, which is good for kids that just want to splash around. As you can see, it has a very shallow depth, making it safe and easy for toddlers to play and splash around as well.

As you can see, the area surrounding the pool is also all lined with trees and shaded areas, so the whole area has a very chill and family-friendly ambience. Parents can also relax on the pool loungers and easily keep an eye on their little ones.
\What We Liked Most About the Stay
1. Excellent Service Recovery
A smoky unit would have put a sour start to the trip but turning that into something better than the original plan was very good.
We ended up with more space, more privacy, and free breakfast. That level of service deserves serious commendation.
2. The Apartment Feel New and Extremely Well-Designed
Everything from the flooring to the lighting fixtures feels like a serviced residence built within the last 3-5 years. No carpets from the 80s, no “original” furniture, and no old-school lighting fixtures. The entire apartment feels so fresh and stylish.
3. Super Great for Families and Longer Stays
The washer/dryer, full kitchen, and massive living area really elevates the experience if you are staying for more than a few nights.
4. Location Is Convenient
Bukit Bintang is within a few minutes. Pavilion KL and Suria KLCC is also a short 15 mina walk away, so it is perfect for shopping trips.
5. Facilities at Marriott Executive Apartments KL, Malaysia
As you can see, there are quite a number of facilities at Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur. While there are other serviced apartments with swimming pools and gym facilities, I can honestly say I was impressed at the quality and thought that went into the facilities at Marriott Executive Apartments.
As a family that traveled with a toddler, all of these facilities made a big difference. The Kids Club and pool areas kept our little one entertained for hours, while the fitness centre was something we adults really appreciated to refresh and re-energize ourselves after a long day out.
Marriott Executive Apartments clearly took effort to make it enjoyable for both adults and kids in the family, which is not always the case for every serviced apartment.
Breakfast Buffet — A Pleasant Surprise
Since we got free breakfast as part of the upgrade, we went in with zero expectations. It turned out better than I expected.

The spread includes:
- Eggs station
- Noodles station
- Fresh fruit
- Roti Canal
- Pastries
- Western delights
- Chinese delights (porridge, spring rolls, noodles)
- Malaysian classics (malay kuih, nasi lemak etc)
- Cereals & yogurt
- Coffee & juices
It is more than enough to start the day right!
Bonus Points for Small Things
- Plenty of power outlets everywhere
- Quiet air-conditioning
- Strong water pressure
- Very clean floors (toddler crawling all over!)
- Stable Wi-Fi
- Nice desk for remote work (good lighting!)
- Washer/dryer hidden in cabinet
These little details may not seem like much, but they add up. They make the entire stay so much more enjoyable.
Final Verdict: Will We Stay Again? Absolutely.
For spacious, modern, and comfortable stays in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur offers fantastic value for the price—especially for families or groups.
The 2-bedroom layout is fantastic for longer stays, and the interiors feel like a luxury condo rather than a traditional hotel.
And the service recovery during our check-in issue? Priceless.
Will I stay again? Definitely—especially with extended family.
