Equarius Hotel Sentosa Review

As part of our wedding solemnisation package, we had the opportunity to check in at Equarius Hotel for one night. Nestled within the expansive Resorts World Sentosa, this 5-star hotel caught our attention with its average nightly rate of SGD 500. From the moment we stepped into its majestic lobby to the time we checked out, our experience was a delightful mix of space, tranquillity, and understated luxury.

If you’re planning a Sentosa staycation or in search of a quieter, more spacious hotel for your next Singapore trip, Equarius Hotel might just be what you’re looking for.

In this detailed review, we’ll cover everything from its prime location inside Resorts World Sentosa to the spacious room we stayed in, providing you with all the insights you need to know.

Equarius Hotel at Resorts World Sentosa

Equarius Hotel is one of several hotels inside Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), Singapore’s famous integrated resort. Our main draw to the hotel was its proximity to some of the best tourist attractions at Sentosa—Adventure Cove Waterpark, S.E.A. Aquarium, Universal Studios Singapore, and Sentosa Express monorail station are all within a short walking distance or a quick hop on the RWS shuttle.

For travellers planning to visit multiple attractions in Sentosa, Equarius Hotel also has some attractive 3D2N Multi-Attraction Packages, that bundle accommodation with theme park admission tickets. It is a great value for tourists travelling with kids, or first-time Singapore visitors keen to make the most out of their stay at Sentosa.

Check-In

The staff were friendly and professional, but the check-in process could be faster. On a positive note, there were comfy seating and dimmable lights in the waiting area, which helped.

After what felt like forever, we were handed our key cards, and we promptly skipped to the room, ready to unwind and indulge.

Deluxe Room at Equarius Hotel

We checked in to our Deluxe Room, and it was love at first sight for us. It’s the size of the room that really surprised us, as it’s almost 60 square meters, which is a significant upgrade in space from most hotels in Singapore—and it feels even more spacious with the high ceiling and layout.

The king-sized bed is located directly opposite the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door that leads to a private balcony with a view of Resorts World Sentosa. From the balcony, we could see lush greenery, the roofs of Resorts World Sentosa, and cable cars gliding smoothly across the skies. It’s the perfect picture of peaceful serenity with a hint of cinematic drama.

Other features of the room included:

  • LCD Television mounted on a swiveling stand so you can watch from the bed or the sofa corner
  • Writing desk with a vanity mirror
  • Mini-bar section with a coffee machine and kettle
  • Soft carpet flooring, which made the whole room feel extra plush

It was a clean room with well-maintained fixtures and fittings and tastefully decorated with neutral hues and light wood accents. The whole room exudes a sense of coziness and warmth.

One of the highlights of the room is the en-suite bathroom connected to the bedroom via a glass partition. This design allowed natural light to flow from the balcony into the bathroom, giving the room a sense of openness without compromising on privacy with a sliding curtain you can pull across the glass panel if you need more seclusion.

The bathroom also featured:

  • A deep soaking bathtub perfect for lounging and relaxing
  • Rainfall shower with a good water pressure
  • Long vanity area with double sinks
  • Luxury toiletries, replenished every day
  • Thick fluffy towels and terrycloth robes

The layout also works great for couples, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion, like a wedding anniversary or honeymoon. The space feels like a suite without being in a suite.

The Sweet Surprise: Complimentary Afternoon Tea

There was a knock on our door, and before we knew it, a polite staff member delivered a complimentary afternoon tea set for us. It included:

  • Chocolate cake, which was rich, moist, and yummy
  • Side serving of dried apricots and mixed nuts

We were honestly surprised and touched that they went through the effort to do that, especially for a one-night stay like ours. It was a sweet and thoughtful gesture that left a lasting, personal touch on our experience.

Hotel Facilities & Amenities

Since we were only there for one night, we only did a brief walk around the hotel premises, but here are some notable amenities and facilities you can check out if you’re staying a few nights:

  • Pool: Set against a backdrop of lush greenery, the pool area at Equarius Hotel is a quiet, family-friendly oasis.
  • Spa and Wellness Centre: Equarius Hotel also has an in-house spa where you can pamper yourself with a massage or other treatments.
  • Free Shuttle Services: Complimentary shuttle services run regularly from Equarius Hotel to key attractions within Resorts World, including Universal Studios, the Casino, and more.
  • Dining Options: While there aren’t that many restaurants inside Equarius Hotel, you can easily access world-class dining options across Resorts World Sentosa, including some celebrity chef restaurants like Osia, Forest by Chef Sam Leong, and Ocean Restaurant.

Who Should Stay at Equarius Hotel?

Equarius Hotel is ideal for:

  • Couples who want a romantic hideaway or honeymoon-style staycation
  • Families who prioritise space and are close to family-friendly attractions
  • Business travellers attending a function at Resorts World
  • Tourists who prefer a quieter, more spacious hotel to stay at in Sentosa

The thing that sets Equarius Hotel apart is its spacious room, beautiful view, and great location. The only minor downside we experienced was the check-in process on weekends, which can get a bit slow when there’s a high crowd.

Would We Stay at Equarius Hotel Again?

Equarius Hotel is a hotel that we would return to—especially for special occasions or as a luxury staycation. It felt like a suite, and the views were so peaceful and cinematic. It made us nostalgic and at home.

We’d also stay at the hotel again simply for that sweet surprise of complimentary afternoon tea that made us feel special. It also left a warm and lasting impression on us, which was unexpected for a hotel that we were only at for one night.

If you’re on the lookout for a hotel in Sentosa that offers space and serenity, Equarius Hotel in Resorts World Sentosa is a good option. It ticks all the boxes for a quiet, luxurious hideaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Summary

Equarius Hotel is located in Resorts World Sentosa and is a very good choice for tourists with children due to its accessibility to various theme parks. However, note that if you are looking to explore outside Sentosa Island, it’s not easy to go outside. One has to take a shuttle bus from Hotel Michael or Hard Rock instead of at the Equarius hotel directly. Besides, the rate for one room is relatively expensive compared to other same or better-rated hotels, although a 3D2N package might be a good deal. Generally, the hotel is not very big. Facilities are complete but for those who are looking for a bigger swimming pool, you may be disappointed. Breakfast buffet quality is normal and average.
