Located just beside Hansa Bangkok House, Take A View is an authentic Thai food restaurant that you should not miss if you are living nearby.
We were famished as we did not have proper lunch on that day and was looking around for nearby restaurant for an early dinner. Fortunately, we found Take A View which is just located directly beside Hansa Bangkok House (our accommodation). Though the restaurant opens at 5 pm, the staff in Take A View deliberately opened earlier for us. With a tropical theme, the garden and feature wall with its own cascading water offers a pleasant dining atmosphere.
The menu looks old without many photos on it. We ordered Tom Yum Goong (our favorite), steamed egg with bacon hotpot, crispy fried chicken, and two drinks.
I really love the bronze pot that most restaurants use for Tom Yum Goong in Thailand. It looks very traditional and photogenic to me. For your info, there are two types of Tom Yum Goong. One is Tom Yum goong nam sai (ต้มยำกุ้งน้ำใส) – tom yum with shrimp in a clear broth; the other is Tom Yum goong nam khon (ต้มยำกุ้งน้ำข้น) which is the creamy milky version. I definitely love the former which retains all the freshness of ingredients and shrimp.
I personally enjoy this steamed egg very much. This dish really gives me much surprise with slices of salty bacon on it. You can also find slices of crabstick within the steam egg.
The fried chicken is crispy and golden. Dipping with the spicy sauce, it tastes even better!
In a hot weather in Thailand, how can we miss the fresh-made watermelon blended ice as well as the traditional iced Thai tea? The sweetness is to the right level. Besides, they are quite cheap.
With three dishes and 2 drinks, we only spend less than 600 baht for the dinner. This is truly the most value for money meal we have ever had in Bangkok!

Summary
As mentioned, this is one of the best value for money restaurant in Bangkok we have tried. There are plenty of dishes you can choose from, the price is really cheap and the food is tasty. The atmosphere is not bad and the staff is nice and friendly too. One downside will be the location though.
