Staying focused and working for hours is challenging for most people. I am one of them that find it super challenging too. For me, I normally take small breaks in between to be more productive. Visiting nearby cafes while working during weekends has been a routine for me since we started ShinyVisa. This is not a bad idea right? I can relax for 1 plus hours while having the flexibility to visit cafes that we can share our experiences here. Today, I will be sharing about a nearby cafe in Serangoon called C.A.N Cafe. Started by Mr Jeffrey, C.A.N cafe is a retro-themed music cafe where you can enjoy coffee or beer while admiring antiques and oldies song. C.A.N cafe first opened in Liang Seah Street and has since changed its location to Beach Road and now, Upper Serangoon Road.
If you are curious, C.A.N stands for Christa and Naomi

We went there at late afternoon around 3:00PM. As expected, we were the first customer! Initially, we wanted to order just drinks and a side dish but after looking at the menu, we can’t help but order more to try out more dishes.
This is their creatively designed menu that looks like an action board.
The interior of C.A.N Cafe. The cafe gives a very heart-warming feeling. It’s just like visiting a friend’s house. One thing that is pretty interesting here is that items here are quite unique. All the antiques are collected by the cafe owner over the years.
A wider view of the interior in C.A.N Cafe. I won’t be surprised if you mistaken this as an antique shop. I feel that we instantly traveled back in time.
A lot of other collectibles on the wall. Harley-Davidson is the soldier’s friend!
Car plates, action board and more hanging on the walls
Here is where you can rock n roll at Rock n Roll Alley.
I think these should be some old radios. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Okay, why is she staring at and posing with this photo frame?
After exploring the cafe, we went back to our sofa area to enjoy our drinks and snacks. The serving time took quite a well but understandable as it just opened. The boss is a one-man show when serving us. Taking the orders and preparing the food #likeaboss.
Check out what we ordered. Quite a lot for 2 persons!
Mango Smoothie
Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream
Chicken Teriyaki Burger
Luncheon Meat Fries
This is something interesting. Basically it is luncheon meat deep fried till crispy.

Summary
We spent around $35 in total. I feel that the food is priced reasonably. The price stated in the menu includes the GST as well. The atmosphere in C.A.N cafe is great. The collections are amazing and if you are a fan of retro, you must make a trip down to this retro-themed cafe to take some photos for memories.
For the food we ordered, I would say it tasted pretty normal for me.
Overall, C.A.N is quite an interesting cafe located in Serangoon. This place is great for events or even gathering for group of friends. IMO, it’s quite a good place to chill out and #TGIF.
